Madly in Love

Brilliant white coats
Huddled together in the corner
Like a flock of noisy birds
They cackled about me
Their tiny new morsel

Bipolar, one cooed, that's what it is
All those ups and downs
That abnormal arousal followed by the crippling depression
Clearly schizophrenic, quacked another one, disagreeing
She's delusional and surrounded by hallucinations
Another one clucked, no no no no
It's borderline personality disorder
All those out of control emotions
They continued to strut down the hall
Sticking out their chests and fluffing their feathers

She sat quietly, ear to the door
And a silly twittering laugh escaped her lips
There was no disease, no ailment, nothing to cure

That whimsical joy that made her feel invincible
That heated desire whenever he crossed her mind
That deep powerful longing in her loins
That horrible emptiness whenever he went away
That numbing longing as she waited for him
That comforting feeling that he was always watching and protecting
That intangible connection of shared similar thoughts
That floating sensation of never touching the ground
That tickling excitement of being his special girl
That magnification of every little thing seen through him

Knowing that she had his heart
Knowing how she had given up hers

She was just
Madly in love
